POSITION:       Deputy Court Clerk

 

LOCATION:    Trial Court, Concho, OK

 

ISSUE DATE:  September 23, 2008           CLOSING DATE:  Until Filled

 

DUTIES: The Deputy Court Clerk will assist the Court Clerk and other Deputy Court Clerks and render assistance to the Trial Court and Supreme Court Judges as needed; the Deputy Court Clerk shall undertake al duties and functions otherwise authorized by law, or necessary and proper to exercise of a duty of function authorized by law; collect all fines, fees and costs authorized or required by law to be paid to the Courts; accepts, when ordered by the Court, monies for the payment of civil judgments and to pay same by check to the party entitled to them; administer oaths, issue summons and subpoenas, certify a true copy of Court records and to accurately keep each and every record of the Supreme and Trial Courts; provide a record in the absence of a Court Reporter to accurately and completely record all proceedings and hearings of the Courts; provide receptionist, clerical and secretarial services to the Court; explains procedures or forms to parties in cases, prepares case folders, posts, files or routes documents; keeps and maintains the  Court’s law library; undertakes all duties assigned or delegated to the Clerk’s office by the Tribal Law or Court Rule.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least (2) years specialized work experience
  • Knowledge of general office practices and Courtroom procedures
  • Knowledge of property and supply
  • Ability to type sixty (60) words per minute
  • Skills in operating various office machines and be computer literate
  • Skills in greeting and working with the public
  • Has demonstrated moral integrity and fairness in business, public and private life
  • Has never been convicted of a felony
  • Has regularly abstained from the excessive use of alcohol and any use whatsoever of illegal drugs or psychotoxic chemical solvents.
  • Must pass pre-hire drug screen.

 

SALARY: NEGOTIABLE
