POSITION:    Administrator

                        Geary Community Nursing Home

 

LOCATION:  Economic Development, Concho, Oklahoma

Description Summary:  Administrator shall be responsible for the total operation of the facility, subject only to the policies adopted by the governing authority, regulations of the Oklahoma State Health Department and the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators.  Administrator shall be qualified by training and experience, capable of making judgments. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Operate the facility in accordance with established policies and procedures of the Governing Body.  Act as a liaison with the Governing Body, medical, nursing staff and other professional supervisory staff through regular meetings and periodic reporting. 
  • Writes definite policies regarding duties and activities of the staff, which will assure health care and safety of the residents and others.  Must be able to explain policies in a manner which will achieve the purpose of the facility. 
  • Supervise the recruitment, employment and discharge of all staff.  Works with the department had in hiring personnel and assures that there is adequate number of staff to meet the needs of the residents on a 24 hour basis.
  • Supervise all department heads, including office staff.  Meet periodically with Department Heads.  Evaluate the performance of each employee with the Department Heads and discuss the evaluation with the employee. 
  • Ensure necessary food and other supplies needed for the operation of the facility are available and purchased as needed.  Ensure all equipment is in good working condition. 
  • Study and keep current with changes made in State and Federal Regulations. 
  • Establish standard operating procedures for physician’s practices in the facility with the Director of Nurses. 
  • Ensure that volunteer programs are planned and supervised. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years experience in Long Term Care
  • Must have an Oklahoma Nursing Home Administrator’s License
  • Must have a knowledge of State and Federal Regulations
  • Must have a Valid State driver’s license
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass an OSBI background check and pre-employment drug screening

SALARY:  Commensurate with Education and work experience.
